Close to 100 Revvi Racers descended on the fantastic LDR facility in Gloucestershire a couple of weeks back to compete in the Revvi 500 Electric Balance Bike Championship, which ran alongside the second round of the 2024 EXGP British EX Championship.

The 12″ and 16″ racers battled it out on the small but speedy Revvi Arena circuit while the 18″ riders took to the more extensive course, which was part of the full LDR adult circuit.
Ronnie Marchant was on fire in the Revvi 12″ 3 years of age class and took the overall win with five wins from 6 races, only being defeated in race four by Rupert Keenan, who had a rare old burst of speed in second overall just one point ahead of the impressive Toby Jones in third. Jaxon Jones got faster as the weekend progressed, taking 2nd in the final race on Sunday for fourth with James Hutchinson notching up an excellent fifth with Blake Ford powering to six good point-scoring rides for sixth.
In the Revvi 12″ 4-5-year-old class, Gunnar Day was a racer on a mission, storming to maximum points to claim the Revvi 500 title over his good friend and rival Viktor Konarzewski, who finished a fantastic second. He was 6 points up on Harry Hughes, who notched it up a gear on Sunday with 2 seconds for a great third overall. Oscar Wild and Walter Shingler Hulme were always in the mix at the sharp-up, with Oscar getting the upper hand for fourth with Walter sixth, while Gabriel Blacha edged out Ronnie Gardner for a nice sixth.
The stacked Revvi 16″ 3-4 year old class had two qualifying heats and a final each day as did the Revvi 16″ 5 year old category.
Back onto the 3-4’s, though, and Rory Ritzka pulled the pin in both finals to claim the overall victory with maximum points. With an excellent fourth and a second, Billy Plummer took home second position ahead of Carter Goodwill-Bagan, who had one of his best-ever events with us in a fantastic third. Walter Singler-Hulme kept his Dad busy by competing in this class also and came away with a superb fourth, ahead of Auley Luxton in a great fifth and Roman Jarvis Hopkinson, who nudged out Rex Jones for sixth.
The action in the Revvi 16″ 5 years of age class was out of the top drawer, and making it a double for the weekend courtesy of winning Sunday’s final was Gunnar Day, who had some epic battles in this super competitive group of racers. The stylish Ezra Guyton won Saturday’s final and, with third on Sunday, would claim an awesome second overall ahead of Junior Garbutt, who was always at the business end of the racing with some excellent track craft. Aliyas Westwick was another rider who was always in the mix and never gave up all weekend long, finishing a tremendous fourth ahead of the Rafe Harwood, who once again made sure he got plenty of airtime over the jumps. Oscar Wild had a good weekend in a rammed class of 27 racers to come sixth.
It wall came down to the last race in the Revvi 16″ 6 years of age class, with Parker Herbert and Aurora Young trading race wins with each notching up three apiece. In the end, though, the victory would go the way of Parker courtesy of taking the chequers in the last race. Great racing, guys. Martha Gill came home in third with a set of 6 consistently great results, keeping back the ever-charging Brodie Holden at bay in fourth. Ivy Rose Tasker had some epic tussles and came away with a great fifth, while Foxy Smith had some good races and bagged sixth overall.
Nate Sharp was unstoppable in the Revvi 16″ 7-8 year old class, maxing out with a full set of six victories and taking the title with it. There was a huge battle raging for second, though, between Kayce Lacelles and Emy Gardner. The last race was the decider for second, which in the end went the way of Kayce, with Emy third. Super racing, guys. Coming home in fourth was Louisa Mardell, who just got the better of Prime Howard in fifth.
On the bigger track, the racing was no less thrilling, with results all over the shop. Coming through with the Revvi 18″ 6-8 years of age title with an outstanding performance was Alfie James, and in a stacked class of talented riders, that was no easy feat. Three riders were separated by just 1 point for second place, and coming through to claim the number two spot was Eli Smith, who turned on the style when it mattered in the final race to keep the fast and furious Oscar Duckworth in third. Ronnie Crutchley a point back on Eli, and Oscar rode fantastically for fourth. With some great starts and full commitment, Charlie Young finished a strong fifth, while the ever-smiling Ortus Simons made it into the top six with some great races.
There was plenty of drama, crashes and great duals in the Revvi 18″ 9-11 category with the last race being something else. An out-of-this-world three-way battle in the final race of their weekend would ultimately decide the winner, with the top three riders separated by less than a second as they crossed the line. Taking that win would be Peaches Hopkinson, but the position that mattered when it came to the title was next as Emelia Bryant held off Seth Johnson by a whisker to take that final decisive point, which would give her the overall ahead of Seth. Peaches would end the weekend in third. Oustanding racing from these racers. Poppy Birkett finished in a tremendous fourth overall, ahead of Hallie Huggins, who gave it her all in fifth and Brooke Puddy, who rode well for sixth.
